Glasgow City captain Leanne Ross reached a memorable landmark for her club during their 6-0 victory over Stirling University, which keeps them three points clear at the top of SWPL 1.
City notched up their ninth win in eleven matches thanks to an Abbi Grant double and goals from Hayley Lauder, Donna Paterson, Nicola Docherty and Leanne Ross.
For captain Ross, it was her 250th career goal for the club, in only 296 starts, a quite incredible feat for Scotland's most decorated player in domestic football.
Hibernian had temporarily moved into top spot earlier in the day with a 7-1 win over local rivals Spartans. Abigail Harrison and Lizzie Arnot each hit hat-tricks and Katie Reilly added the other, with Spartans' consolation coming from Ronaigh Douglas.
Celtic lost ground in third place after going down to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Rangers in the Old Firm derby. Natalie Ross gave Celtic a tenth minute lead but Carla Boyce and Hayley Sinclair ensured that Rangers were ahead at the break, with Boyce scoring her second early in the second half. Josephine Giard renewed hopes for Celtic when she pulled a goal back but Rangers held on for an important result which brought an end to their run of defeats.
Forfar Farmington's season continues to go from strength to strength as they recorded their fifth win in six matches, 2-1 against Hamilton Academical. After a goalless first half, Robyn Smith opened the scoring for Forfar one minute after the restart and after Katie Rice equalised for the Accies on the hour, Megan McCarthy headed in the winning goal to cement Forfar's position in the top half of the table.
