Two teams which finished in the top half last season, Luton Town and Leyton Orient, met each other and it was the O's who emerged as 1-0 victors. A closely contested game was settled with nine minutes remaining as substitute Chanel Richards scored the only goal.
AFC Wimbledon and Cambridge Utd meanwhile battled out a 1-1 draw. The Dons took the lead shortly before half time through Katie Stanley, before Cambridge hit back after the break and earned themselves a share of the spoils with an equaliser from Kayleigh-Anne Burt.
