Wolverhampton Wanderers gave their season a flying start as they scored eleven times without reply past Steel City Wanderers.
After an own goal gave Wolves an early lead, Lowri Walker found the net four times whilst Jess Jennings and Billie Haynes each contributed braces, with Chloe Williams and Jen Anslow also on target.
Last season's runners-up Burton Albion have started well again, beating Solihull Moors 7-1. Hayleigh Sutton led the scoring with a hat-trick and she was joined on the scoresheet by Jamie Leigh Fowler, Paris O'Connor, Amelia Robb and Jordan Atkin, with Phillippa Harmison replying.
Nettleham's debut match in the league resulted in an impressive 4-1 victory over The New Saints. All of the game's goals came before half time, Katie Williams giving Nettleham the lead before adding further goals through Abigail Ringrose and Abigail Murrell. Taylor Davis pulled a goal back for TNS but Elise Keyworth rounded off a fine first game for the newly promoted side.
West Bromwich Albion meanwhile came from two goals behind to win 4-2 against Birmingham & West Midlands Ladies. Stephanie Weston and Maimee Morris gave the visitors the lead during the first half but Francesca Orthodoxou pulled one back on the stroke of half time and this proved to be the turning point, as Albion took the points during the second half with goals from Reia Henry, Rachael Howard and Harriet James.
Sporting Khalsa also benefitted from a late goal as they edged out Long Eaton Utd 3-2. Chloe Handy scored a late goal to add to earlier strikes from Stephanie Kydd and Lauren Walker, whilst Long Eaton replied through Jade Arber and Amy Pashley.
