Regional Leagues round-up...
Women's Football Regional Premier Eastern News - 22 Aug 2018

Eastern Region League
Acle Utd have been amongst the title challengers in the Premier Division in recent seasons and they have started well again this time around, opening up by scoring nine times without reply past Haringey Borough. Two seasons ago, Haringey pipped Acle to the title by a single point but on their return to the league following relegation, Grace Birchall and Megan Todd each hit hat-tricks with Rhianne Brister (2) and Laura Holden adding the others for Acle. Wymondham Town meanwhile made an instant impact in their first match following promotion, Laura Nicholls scoring four times as they won 8-1 away to AFC Dunstable. Chelsea Clarke, Beth Fretwell, Carolyn Sarafian and Jorja Patterson added the other goals, with the home side's consolation coming from Storm Burrows. Grace Stanley (2), Laura Mills, Shannon Shaw and Carla Penny were on the scoresheet for Cambridge City in their 5-2 success at Peterborough Northern Star and Harlow Town also won 5-2 against Brentwood Town thanks to an Olivia Steele hat-trick, Lily Bruno and Rubie Smith. AFC Sudbury and Bedford Ladies battled out a 1-1 draw, Ceri Harris netting an injury time equaliser for Sudbury to cancel out Maya Sidhu's earlier goal.

St Ives Town are the opening day leaders in Division One following their 6-1 victory over Lawford. Tierney Coulson led the scoring with a hat-trick and also on target were Amy Seymour-Shove, Georgia Stancombe and Lauren Gibson. Last season's title winners Stevenage Ladies Res have begun well this time, beating Bishop's Stortford 5-0 thanks to a Daniela Martucci hat-trick, Sherrie Evans and Emily Schofield. Hutton were 5-2 winners over Histon and King's Lynn Town defeated Newmarket Town 5-3, Oksana Imanalijeva netting twice along with Tiffany Forshaw, Rochelle Woods and Chloe Witt. Charley Handley, Kristina O'Connell and Natasha Crick accounted for the goals as Hoddesdon Town Owls won 3-1 at Ipswich Wanderers and Bowers & Pitsea defeated Hatfield Peveral 2-1 with strikes from Sabrina Campbell and Abbie Simmonds.

London & South East League
AFC Phoenix pushed Crawley Wasps all the way for the league title last season and have made an impressive start this time, opening up the new campaign with a 5-2 victory away to Aylesford. Kasey Kelm had a great day in front of goal for Phoenix, scoring four times in all, and Helen Bellfield added the other with Kelly Philpott netting twice in reply for the home side. Phoenix top the opening day table with newly promoted Queen's Park Rangers Development in second place, they won 4-2 against Parkwood Rangers with goals from Chloe Sampson (2), Melanie Hall and Paige Vanden. London Kent Football Utd meanwhile beat Eastbourne Town 1-0, Emily Hart scoring the only goal of the game. Morgan Parnell was on target for newcomers Whyteleafe as they shared a 1-1 draw with Fulham FC Foundation, who replied through Michaela Gooden.
