Congratulations to Motherwell who have clinched the SBSSWPL 2 title with five matches still to play and did so in style, winning 5-1 away to Edinburgh University Hutchison Vale.
Motherwell went into the game requiring a win to be sure of being crowned as Champions and two early goals from Suzanne Mulvey and Sammy Hare put them in a strong position. Lucy Brown brought the home side back into the game as she reduced the arrears but Hare netted her second to make it 3-1 going into half time. Hare went on to complete her hat-trick during the second half and Hayley Cunningham rounded off the scoring late on.
FC Kilmarnock are leading the race for second place following their 4-1 victory over Central Girls Academy. Lisa Swanson led the scoring for Kilmarnock by netting a hat-trick and Kirsty Munro added the other goal.
Hearts are finishing the season in good form and up are into third after beating Glasgow Girls 3-0. After a goalless first half, Stacey Hutchison opened the scoring for Hearts ten minutes after the restart and Jennifer Smith quickly added a second, before Danielle Pagliarulo netted the final goal from a free kick.
Aberdeen further boosted their fight to stay up as they recorded a third straight win and they are now just two points from safety. 14-year-old Bayley Hutchison was the heroine for Aberdeen as she netted all four goals in their 4-1 victory against St Johnstone, whose consolation strike came from Ellie Cowie.
