Foxes and Pompey tied at top
 Women's Football WNL South News - 29 Aug 2018

Loughborough Foxes continue their impressive start to the new campaign and they are joint leaders of the Southern Premier Division after winning 3-1 away to Watford.

The Foxes were two ahead at half time thanks to Rebecca Knight and Kate Lowder and although Leanne Bell gave Watford renewed hope when she pulled a goal back, Charlotte Cooper replied two minutes late to sew up a fine result for her side.

Portsmouth have exactly the same record as Loughborough Foxes following their 4-1 victory over Gillingham. All of Pompey's goals were in the second half with Shannon Albuery, Katie James, Jade Bradley and Daisy McLachlan all getting on the scoresheet, whilst the Gills' consolation came from Maddison Chamney-Farrand.

Chichester City complete a trio of clubs on maximum points after they returned from Plymouth Argyle with a 3-0 win under their belts. Molly Clark was on target twice for Chi, whose other goal was scored by Helen Ogle.

Coventry Utd meanwhile notched up their first victory of the new season, a 3-0 success away to Milton Keynes Dons. Chenise Austin gave Coventry the lead in the 19th minute and Maz Gauntlett ensured they were two ahead at half time, before Lois Jefferies rounded off the scoring on the hour.

After a defeat in their opening game, Cardiff City Ladies got off the mark by scoring five times without reply against C & K Basildon. Kylie Nolan opened the scoring with two minutes on the clock, Hannah Miles added a first half double and Cori Williams increased their lead before the break. Alice Griffiths completed a good day for her side by netting the fifth during the second half.

Oxford Utd also recorded their first victory, 3-0 over Queen's Park Rangers. The U's netted all of their goals during the first half, Georgia Timms giving them the lead before Kerry Walklett and Flo Fyfe also got on the scoresheet.
