Coventry topple leaders
 Women's Football WNL South News - 19 Sep 2018

Coventry Utd have replaced Chichester City at the top of the Southern Premier Division after beating them 2-1 in their meeting on Sunday.

Jade Brook netted both goals to take her team to the summit with a fourth straight victory whilst Chichester, who are now third, replied through Cherelle Khassal.

Watford are up into second on the back of a 4-2 win away to Portsmouth. Daisy McLachlan gave Pompey a first half lead which was cancelled out by Katie O'Leary, Portsmouth then went in front for a second time when Hannah Geer scored midway through the second half but a late Anaisa Harney double, plus a Helen Ward goal, turned the match in Watford's favour.

Cardiff City Ladies are placed just behind the leading sides following their 3-1 victory over Loughborough Foxes. Kate Lowder had given Loughborough a first half lead but after the break, Cardiff took the points thanks to Grace Horrell, Kelly Isaac and an own goal.

Plymouth Argyle were involved in another high scoring affair, this time winning 5-3 against C & K Basildon. Helen Bleazard netted twice for Argyle along with Kayley Lane, Amber Pollock and Katie Middleton, whilst C & K's replies came from Patricia Gimenez (2) and Raquel Murray.

Oxford Utd produced a fine display as they won 5-0 away to Gillingham. Ellie Noble gave the U's a first half lead with Sophie Baker adding a second on the stroke of half time and after the break, Oxford netted further goals through Flo Fyfe, Lauren Haynes and Madeleine Robertson.

Queen's Park Rangers picked up their first point of the season when sharing a 1-1 draw with Milton Keynes Dons. Kerry Newman's first half goal looked to have set the Dons on their way to their second win of the season but in injury time, Roschelle Shakes scored an equaliser to get Rangers off the mark.
