SSE Women's FA Cup - Road to the Final
Luton Town came through a tough tie in the last round with a 5-2 victory against Oxford City. Erica Byron hit a hat-trick for a young Luton side, with Aurora Ryan and Nicola Henman adding the others. Luton will be at home once again in the First Round, this time to London & South East League high fliers Kent Football Utd, who reached this stage by beating Ashford Town (Middx) 4-3 with an Elizabeth Waldie hat-trick and Rachel Stevens.
Kent Elite Football Club (K.E.F.C) was formed in 2010 and incorporated the Kent Elite Football Academy, Kent Elite Goalkeeper School & Kent Elite Soccer Schools to its organisation. The club was setup with the aim of improving the knowledge, technicality and application of its players by providing a high class of FA to UEFA Academy standard coaching. The name was subsequently changed to Kent Football United.
Kent Football United Ladies compete in the London & South East Legue this season after a successful four years as a youth team in the Kent Girls & Ladies Football League. Coached by a UEFA qualified coach the team plays all home games on our main pitch at the Glentworth Club, Lowfield Street, Dartford, DA1 1JB and train floodlit on a Wednesday evening 7pm till 9pm also at the ground.
Last season was magnificent one for the club as they carried off the South East Counties Women's League title by a margin of seven points and won the Kent County Cup for the first time, beating London Kent Football Utd on a penalty shootout in the Final following a 2-2 draw. This season, they have started off well at the higher level and sit in second place in the table, as well as reaching the First Round of the SSE Women's FA Cup.
The team is managed by Sam MacNeil and Natasha Moloney is captain. Striker Amy Russ is having a great campaign with 18 goals to her name already, she is currently the league's leading scorer ahead of strike partner Rachel Stevens who has scored 12 times, whilst Elizabeth Waldie has contributed a further nine.
The tie will be played at Stockwood Park with a 1pm kick off.
