The remaining three Second Round ties were played over the weekend and a fourth team was knocked out by a lower division opponent.
Division One South East leaders Crawley Wasps won 2-0 against Southern Premier Division high fliers Chichester City, first half goals from Kemina Webber and Darcey James taking Crawley through to the Third Round for the first time, where they will travel to face Coventry Utd (see match report).
Watford were pushed all the way by Buckland Athletic but were able to book themselves a trip to Middlesbrough with a 1-0 victory against their plucky opponents from Devon. Katie O'Leary settled matters for Watford with the only goal of the game, with twenty minutes remaining.
The other tie went all the way to a penalty shootout, where Bolton Wanderers defeated West Bromwich Albion after the teams had battled out a 2-2 draw. Albion took the lead through Hattie James but two Safron Newhouse goals then turned the match around in Bolton's favour, until Laura Davies equalised to take the game into extra time. A winner could not be decided and it was Nicole Johnston who slotted home the winning penalty for Bolton, who now go to Cardiff City Ladies in the Third Round.
