SWPL 2 is already shaping up to be a closely contested season, with only one of the three matches played producing a winning side.
The only team to pick up three points on Sunday were Hearts, who came from behind to beat Hamilton Academical 2-1. After Gillian Sloey had slotted home from eight yards out to put the Accies in front during the first half, after the break, Hearts were back on level terms through a spectacular strike by Rachel Walkingshaw from fully 40 yards. Danni Pagliarulo completed the turnaround when she scored the winning goal from the penalty spot.
Dundee Utd's first ever match in the Scottish Women's Premier League saw them pick up a point from a 1-1 draw with St Johnstone. United took the lead during the first half through a lob from Laurie Denney, with Ellie Cowie hitting back to earn St Johnstone a share of the spoils when she equalised midway through the second half.
The other newly promoted team, Partick Thistle, also got off the mark after an evenly contested meeting with Glasgow Girls ended in a goalless draw.
One other match had been set to take place on Sunday but the game between Hutchison Vale and FC Kilmarnock was postponed.
