Glasgow City belatedly began their campaign with a 7-1 victory over Spartans. Kirsty Howat led the scoring for the reigning Champions and there was one apiece from Jenna Clark, Leanne Ross and Joanne Love along with an own goal, Sarah Clelland netting a late consolation for Spartans.
Rangers also kicked off their season with three points, winning 4-1 away to Stirling University. Forfar Farmington bounced back from an opening day defeat to win for the first time, 3-2 against Motherwell. A brace from Hannah Stewart gave Forfar a two-goal lead in the first half and after Katie Rice pulled one back, Donna Paterson restored the advantage two minutes later.
