Lumley began the season well with victories in both of their opening two matches, before being held to a 2-2 draw by Consett Belles in their third game.
From that moment onwards, the team never looked back and won all of their remaining eleven league matches from that point, clinching the title with a match to spare when beating CLS Amazons 4-1.
"After being promoted from the Durham Development Division we were unsure how our first season in League One would go," chairman David Taylor told Women's Soccer Scene, "but the team have once again stepped up to the challenge and put in some fantastic performances to finish the season unbeaten and League Champions.
"All results have been important, but the wins in tough matches against Consett Belles (2-0) and Chester le Street Amazons (4-1) proved to be crucial.
"It's difficult to single out one best performance, as we've seen the team mature a lot this season and, in a number of games, have played some excellent football which has been great to watch.
"We are now looking for new players to add to the squad as we move into the North East Regional Womens League, so would welcome contact from players."
The team is coached by a trio of Kevin Jackson, David Taylor and Mark Sugden and is captained by Megan Watson. Leading goalscorer is Jenny Ashton who has 28 goals to her name, while Sarah Hutchieson and Jamie Sugden are regulars on the scoresheet.
"Another important role in helping us win is the support we get off the pitch each week with preparing the pitch and refreshments," added Taylor.
Lumley still have one more big match to play this season and will have another trophy in their sights as they take on CLS Amazons in the League Cup Final. The game will be played at Chester-le-Street FC (1.30pm kick off).
