One match went ahead in the Championship over the weekend, Lewes continuing their resurgence in form with a 2-0 victory over Millwall Lionesses.
Millwall almost went ahead early on when a Beth Lumsden corner was tipped onto the post by Faye Baker, but the Rookettes did take the lead a minute later when Jess King dispossessed Millwall keeper Rhiannon Stewart before slotting the ball home. Lewes continued to press but could not add to their lead before half time and the Lionesses went very close to equalising soon after the restart, Riva Casley heading a Lia Cataldo free kick against the post. Casley was to test Baker with an acrobatic volley but Lewes always looked dangerous going forward and they wrapped up the points in spectacular style with three minutes remaining, Charlotte Owen firing in a shot from 25 yards to make it two wins in a row for Fran Alonso's side.
