This season's Scottish Women's Premier League Cup Final will once again be contested between Glasgow City and Hibernian after the top two came through the double header of semi finals on Sunday.
The first match of the double header at the Broadwood Stadium was the Edinburgh derby clash between Hibernian and Spartans and it was the latter who nearly took the lead early on when Tegan Reynolds struck the bar.
The Hibees were to go in front shortly afterwards from a corner which was not cleared by the Spartans defence, and Lauren Davidson bundled the ball over the line. Hibernian pressed for a second but Spartans defended well until the early stages of the second half when Jamie Lee Napier doubled their advantage following good work by Amy Gallacher. Napier then turned provider, setting up Lia Tweedie to score the third and complete a 3-0 victory for the holders.
Glasgow City took on Rangers in the second semi final and took the lead after eight minutes, when Nicola Docherty volleyed in following a corner. The Scottish international then scored a second goal, before Kirsty Howat and Clare Shine put City further ahead. Rangers did pull one back shortly before half time when Caitlin O'Hara fired in from long range. Six minutes into the second half, Leanne Ross curled in a shot from the edge of the area to round off a 5-1 win for her side.
The Final of the Premier League Cup will take place on Friday 10th May at the Pennycars Stadium, Airdrie.
