Chelsea will go into the second leg of their UEFA Women's Champions League semi final this Sunday with a one-goal deficit, but a late away goal has given them the opportunity to become the first English club to reach the Final for 12 years.
Emma Hayes' side travelled to take on holders Olympique Lyonnais for the first leg and in front of a crowd in excess of 22,000 at the Groupama Stadium, a formidable task was beginning to look even harder as the home side raced into a two-goal lead at the break, thanks to Delphine Cascarino and Amandine Henry.
However with fifteen minutes remaining, Erin Cuthbert drilled in a low 20-yard shot to give her side a precious away goal and a real chance ahead of this week's second leg at Kingsmeadow (2pm).
The other semi final saw Barcelona take a 1-0 lead back home with them from the first leg against Bayern Munich. Kheira Hamraoui scoring the only goal of the game for Barca just after the hour mark.
