A solitary goal from Dionne Brown with fifteen minutes remaining saw the Accies extending their unbeaten run to six games and moving one point clear.
Previous leaders Hearts are back in second place after drawing 1-1 with Partick Thistle, who remain the division's only unbeaten team. Both goals came early on, Cheryl Hogg giving Thistle a ninth minute lead and Lauren Evans equalising shortly afterwards.
Glasgow Girls returned to the top three with a 2-0 victory over Dundee Utd. Lucy McEwan put Glasgow ahead in the seventh minute, with Emma Porteous adding the second midway through the first half.
St Johnstone are out of the bottom two following a fourteen-goal blast against Hutchison Vale. Jade McDonald and Ashley Fish led the spree by netting four times apiece, Rachel Todd and Hannah Clark both contributed doubles, with Fern Newbigging and Ellie Cowie also getting on the scoresheet.
