A busy week in the Scottish Women's Premier League ended with Glasgow City five points clear at the top of the table, following their 8-0 victory against Motherwell.
Kirsty Howat hit a hat-trick inside the opening 24 minutes and the striker added a fourth leading up to half time. Jordan McLintock made it five just ahead of the hour mark, before City went on to seal the win with further goals from Jenna Clark, Lara Ivanusa and Clare Shine.
Hibernian also scored eight times, away to Forfar Farmington, and this has taken them back into second place on goal difference. Jamie-Lee Napier gave them the lead, which was doubled by Kirsty Morrison before Napier added her second on the half hour. Chelsea Cornet and Colette Cavanagh further extended Hibs' lead ahead of half time. Morrison completed her double in the opening minute of the second half and Kirsten Reilly also got on the scoresheet, before Napier netted her hat-trick goal in injury time.
Celtic ran out 4-0 winners away to Stirling University to once more complete the top three. Josephine Giard gave them the lead in the first half, with Sarah Ewens adding the second just after half time. Natalie Ross put them further ahead midway through the second half, with Giard completing her brace ten minutes from time.
Spartans' good run was halted as they were beaten 1-0 by Rangers, who move back above them on goal difference. Jade Gallon settled matters with the only goal of the game, at the midway point of the second half.
