Leek Town have had a fantastic season in Division One North of the West Midlands League and there may be more to come for the Staffordshire side this coming weekend.
After having finished in third place in the league last season, with only two defeats to their name, Leek have enjoyed a perfect campaign this time around, having won every league match and finishing on top of the table by a huge margin of twelve points.
Leek Town Ladies are managed by Ian Smith, with Martyn Cooke as coach, whilst Peter Cope undertakes all the match day secretarial and paperwork duties.
The team is captained by Naomi Sale-Hancock, whilst Chantelle Gallagher is leading goalscorer with an impressive 35 goals to her name and Katie Gibbons has weighed in wiith a further 17.
"Our main competitors this season have been Shifnal Town and Stoke City Ladies Development," manager Ian Smith told Women's Soccer Scene.
"The first game of season was an important 3-2 win over Stoke City Development with two goals from Chantelle Gallagher and one from Katie Gibbons. We also beat them 3-2 in the reverse fixture away at Stoke to win the title on 24th March with a Chantelle Gallagher hat-trick.
"Sandwell and AFC Telford away were also difficult games. We beat Sandwell 4-2 in the end in October, after being 2-1 down at one stage, so the players showed great character to turn it around with two goals from Lacey-May Smith and one each for Jenny Hesketh and Bethany Cottrell.
"In November, we went to Shrewsbury Town and won 4-0 with two goals from Chantelle Gallagher and one each for Michaela Lockett and Alice Painter.
"We have won every league game this season, scoring 75 goals and have only conceded 14 times."
Leek will have the chance to round off a fantastic season on Sunday when they play Shifnal Town in the League Cup Final, to be played at Stone Dominoes F.C.
