Eastern Region League
Samaira Khan and Rianne Townsend-Brown both hit hat-tricks as Colney Heath recorded the biggest victory of the opening day in the Premier Division against AFC Dunstable. Lucy Hancock, Megan Kelly and Charlene Moreton each contributed doubles and the tally was completed by Christina Freestone and Adrienne Milton, with Bianca Vassell hitting the visitors' consolation. Royston Town netted nine times without reply past Haringey Borough, Jo Rutherford bagging a hat-trick along with braces from Samantha Edgar, Emma Slater and Ellie Wilkerson. The two newly promoted sides met each other with Sophie Dowman, Donna Fletcher and Megan Harley giving Bowers & Pitsea a 3-2 victory over St Ives Town, who replied through Ruth Fox and Sasha Smith. Luton Town were given a tough start in their first match in the league away to Peterborough Northern Star but started well with a 3-2 win, courtesy of a Dionne Manning hat-trick. Kayleigh Holloway and Emily Leach were on target as Wroxham won 2-1 at Bedford Ladies and Mia Etheridge netted for Wymondham Town as they drew 1-1 with Harlow Town, whose reply came from Beth Chambers.
London & South East League
It has been a summer of change at Queen's Park Rangers but the new season has started well for them, with a 2-0 win against Eastbourne Town. Chloe Sampson scored a goal in each half to put her side on top of the opening day table, with Dulwich Hamlet the other team to record a victory on the day, 2-1 over Aylesford. Liz Wicks and Olivia Bennet were on the scoresheet for Dulwich, who finished runners-up last season under their former name of AFC Phoenix, with Alex Witham replying. Naomi Robinson and Casey Sands netted the goals for newly promoted Saltdean Utd as they shared a 2-2 draw with Dartford, who scored through Kimberley Green and Shauni Griffiths, whilst Lauren Peck and Amy Reader were on target respectively for Fulham and Whyteleafe as their meeting culminated in a 1-1 draw.
North East League
The new season opened up with the First Round of the League Cup on Sunday and the all-Premier Division clash ended emphatically in favour of South Shields, who won 11-1 against R&CA Tynedale. Eve Blakey scored a hat-trick, Dionne Fleming and Rebecca Shields adding two apiece with Elizabeth Fraser, Grace Boyes, Natalie Beswick and Rebecca Ward also getting on the scoresheet. Wallsend Boys Club meanwhile defeated Blyth Town 6-1 thanks to Ellen Turnbull (2), Emma Hewett (2), Nicole Dack and Rebecca Hansen. Newcomers Lumley Ladies triumphed 3-0 against Consett Ladies thanks to a second half brace from Jennifer Ashton, with Rachel Tuff adding the other, whilst strikes from Lauren Henderson (2), Kate Kirby and Gabrielle Watson ensured that Chester-le-Street Town Development defeated Prudhoe Town 4-2. Sunderland West End were 6-2 winners over Norton & Stockton Ancients Res, Alex Ross and Kristen Whitfield each scoring twice along with Emma Banks and Toni Deacon, Anna Mawston and Sacha Millward replying. Jessica Morrison bagged a brace as Sheffield Wednesday beat Hepworth Utd 2-0 and York RI won 7-4 against Bridlington Rovers, Jodie Langstaff hitting a hat-trick with Tamryn Dunlop, Rachel Humble, Kerry Playle and Victoria Stonehouse adding the others.
