Middlesbrough opened up the season in Northern Division One with a 4-1 victory over Bradford City. Chorley meanwhile won 3-0 away to Durham Women, thanks to Emily Norcross, Rebecca Lord and Holly Styles, and a second half strike from Tara Duce gave Huddersfield Town the points against Brighouse Town.
Jennifer Randall scored twice, with Holly Johnson-Collier and Annabell Banks adding the others, as Hull City won 4-1 away to Burnley FC Women in Northern Division Two. Ruby Dunne-Simon was on target as Liverpool Feds won 1-0 against Sheffield FC and goals from Emily Sykes and Stacey Buxton earned Leeds Utd a 2-2 draw with Stockport County.
Derby County are the opening day leaders in Midland Division One after running out 4-1 winners at West Bromwich Albion, courtesy of a Naomi Lawrence double, Taviah Myles and an own goal. Leicester City defeated Stoke City 2-0 whilst Claire Goater and Annabel McKechnie were on target for Nottingham Forest in their 2-2 draw against Loughborough Foxes, who replied through Sarah Brown and Joanna Butler-Williams.
In Midland Division Two, Wolverhampton Wanderers opened up by beating Bedworth Utd 4-1. Chantelle Teare (2), Phoebe Hobbs and Katie Johnson netted their goals, with Shanice Walsh replying. Sporting Khalsa were 3-0 victors at Cardiff City Ladies thanks to Molly Thompson, Katie Nardone and Ashleigh Miles. Grace Duckworth hit a hat-trick along with Shanice Finbow and Rebecca Garner as Crewe Alexandra won 5-3 against Lincoln City, whose replies came from Elise Keyworth, Jodie Steadman and Toni McHamilton.
Crystal Palace also triumphed 4-1 against Gillingham and this means they top the opening day table in the South Division. Lewes meanwhile defeated Chichester City 2-0 thanks to Ella Powell and Jaime Quinn, and the match between Southampton FC and Charlton Athletic finished level at 3-3. Rachel Panting hit a hat-trick for Southampton, whilst the Addicks' goals came via Melanie Parreno Espinosa (2) and Georgia Griffin.
Tammi George bagged a hat-trick along with Renea Jarrett, Portia Walker and Claudia Azhui as Tottenham Hotspur defeated Norwich City 6-0 in the South East Division. Watford won by the same scoreline at Cambridge Utd, with a goal apiece from Jennifer Hughes, Eshe Davis, Lucy Webster, Petra Kos, Hannah Coote and Danielle Maloney. London City Lionesses were 2-0 winners at Billericay Town and an Amy McLean brace earned Milton Keynes Dons a 2-1 victory away to AFC Basildon, whose reply came from Amy Jacobs.
