Glasgow City are closing in on yet another Scottish Women's Premier League title and require eight more points, with six games left to play, following their 3-0 victory over Spartans.
16-year-old Lucy Sinclair, Hayley Lauder and Jenna Clark scored the goals to secure City a fifteenth straight win and extends their lead at the top to eleven points, putting them in good stead ahead of the second leg of their UEFA Women's Champions League Round of 32 tie against WFC Chertanovo on Thursday night.
City's two nearest rivals meanwhile met each other with Hibernian triumphing 3-0 over Celtic, to return themselves to second place. Jamie-Lee Napier put Hibs in front with nine minutes on the clock and Rachael Boyle quickly added a second, before Chelsea Cornet rounded off the win with a deflected effort in the opening minute of the second half. Hibs are also in Champions League action before their next league match, playing the second of their tie against SK Slavia Praha.
Rangers are back in the top half of the table after running out 4-1 winners over Stirling University. Jade Menzies did give Stirling the lead during the first half but Lisa Martinez equalised just before half time and Daina Bourma put them in front after the break. Jade Gallon then made it three and Rosie McQuillan completed the scoring with twenty minutes remaining.
On Friday night, Motherwell won 1-0 away to Forfar Farmington in the live televised match. Kerry Montgomery settled matters when she scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.
