Chorley and Huddersfield Town battled out a goalless draw on Sunday and this means they occupy the top two positions in North Division One. Title holders Blackburn Rovers opened up their campaign with a 6-0 victory over Bradford City, which was given to them by Emily Walton (2), Carra Jones (2), Megan Shandley and Isabel Pacitto. Brighouse Town meanwhile defeated Middlesbrough 7-2, Charlotte Blythe and Ellie Richardson each hitting a hat-trick whilst Josephine Hewson added the other goal.
Leeds Utd U23 have moved to the top in North Division Two by winning 3-2 away to Hull City, courtesy of a Stacey Buxton brace and Holly Orr. Stockport County join them on four points, Jasmin Limb scoring the only goal of the game against Liverpool Feds. Barnsley stormed to a 10-2 victory against Burnley FC Women, Ellie Brightmore netting four times and Emily Pierrepont contributing a hat-trick, with Sheldon Ashton, Rebecca Fevers and Jessica Lee joining them on the scoresheet.
Five teams are level on points at the top of Midland Division One, headed by Stoke City after they won 6-2 away to Loughborough Foxes with goals from Jodie Foxhall (2), Michelle Saunders (2), Nuala Miszkiel and Jessica Richardson. Zoe Creaney and Ellie White were on target as Coventry Utd beat Derby County 2-1 and West Bromwich Albion also won 2-1 against Leicester City thanks to Jessica Hood and an own goal.
Sporting Khalsa lead the way in Midland Division Two after Lauren Bannister and Molly Wright gave them a 2-1 victory over Crewe Alexandra. The New Saints meanwhile defeated Cardiff City Ladies 2-1 courtesy of Grace Layton and Courtney Ashworth. Toni McHamilton scored a hat-trick for Lincoln City, with Ella Tuplin and Jodie Steadman adding the others, as Lincoln City shared a 5-5 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers who replid through Sasha Woodhouse (2), Chloe Shirley (2) and Nyah Edwards.
Kitty Cleeve, Georgina Lowe, Ellie Chaffe and Sophie Lee were the scorers as Southampton FC won 4-0 at Chichester City to take over the leadership of the South Division. Crawley Wasps defeated Lewes 3-2 thanks to Danielle Boyd (2) and Lauren Callaghan, and AFC Wimbledon were 2-1 winners at Charlton Athletic U21 with strikes from Georgia Heasman and Fern Colepio.
In the South East Division, Watford U23 made it two wins out of two with a 3-2 success away to Milton Keynes Dons, goals coming from Holly Greenwood, Hannah Coote and Afiya Johnson.
Two group matches were played in the Reserve League Cup, AFC Basildon winning 5-3 at Billericay Town thanks to Katie Whitehead (2), Danielle Sillitoe, Fancesca Anunwa and an own goal, whilst Lucy Robinson netted a brace along with Ronnell Humes, Beau Parker and Aaliyeah Weise-Forbes as Crystal Palace beat Gillingham 5-2.
