Glasgow City and Hibernian will meet in this year's SSE Scottish Women's Cup Final after both teams recorded 4-1 victories in their respective semi finals on Sunday.
City were first in action as they met Rangers at the Forthbank Stadium and they needed to do it the hard way as Rangers took the lead just after the half hour mark, Carla Boyce heading in from a corner. City got themselves back on level terms shortly before half time, also from a corner which was headed home by Eilish McSorley.
Both teams exchanged chances early in the second half but it was City who were to go ahead for the first time, again from a corner and through a deflected effort from Samantha Kerr. Jenna Clark then hit the post but with twenty minutes remaining, City took firm control of the tie as Rachel McLauchlan made it three. McLauchlan rounded off the win late on when she netted her second goal.
Hibernian and Motherwell met in the second semi final of the double header in a repeat of last season's Final. Colette Cavanagh hit the bar for Hibs earl on but they were soon to go in front, Amy Muir heading in from a corner. Cavanagh then found the net following a strong run and Siobhan Hunter headed in the third goal just ahead of half time.
Any hopes of a Motherwell fightback were killed off early in the second half when Hibs were awarded a penalty and after Rachael Boyle's initial kick was saved by Anna Vincenti, the midfielder followed up to score from the rebound. Motherwell did not give up and grabbed a consolation for themselves when Abby Callaghan converted a cross from Lori Gardner.
The Final will take place at Tynecastle Park on Sunday 24th November.
