Leek oust Leicester
 Women's Football FA Women's Cup News - 9 Nov 2019

Leek Town became the fifth Regional League club to make it through to the First Round Proper and the third to claim a National League scalp when they won 1-0 away to Leicester Utd.

Chantelle Gallagher scored the only goal of the game, three minutes from time, to book the West Midlands League side a plum home tie against Lincoln City this coming weekend.

The five Third Round Qualifying ties which had been postponed the previous Sunday were all played this week, bringing the round to a close, with one of the most exciting matches being at Cheltenham Town where the home side edged out Exeter City by the odd goal in seven. Annie Martin bagged a hat-trick and Abby Bevan the other goal as Cheltenham triumphed 4-3, whilst Abbie Britton also hit a hat-trick for Exeter but ended up on the losing side. Cheltenham will be at home again this coming Sunday to Leyton Orient in one of the most intriguing ties of the First Round.

Durham Cestria booked themselves a local derby tie with Chester-le-Street Town after running out 6-2 winners over Norton & Stockton Ancients. Chloe Ryan netted two of the goals for the Wildcats, whose other markswomen were Jordan Atkinson, Molly Holder, Jennifer Knowles and Dannika Purdham.

Southampton Women meanwhile saw off the challenge of AFC Bournemouth with a 3-1 victory. Jane Yeates, Aine McKeever and own goal saw Southampton through to a First Round meeting with Portishead Town, with Erin Thickett netting a late consolation for the Cherries (see match report).

Liverpool Feds ended the Cup run of Northwich Vixens as they powered to a 7-2 win. Northwich had gone into the game as the lowest ranked team left in the competition but the Feds proved to be too strong on the day. Chantelle Thompson scored a late hat-trick to add to a brace from Abby Pope, with Amelia Panayi and Carla Lee also on the scoresheet. Liverpool Feds will now be at home to Brighouse Town in the next round.
