Five-star Scotland sign off in style
 Women's Football Scotland International News - 10 Nov 2019
Albania 0 Scotland 5 (Emslie 15, Ross 22, Cuthbert 58, Godfrey 64, Murray 77)
It was a five star performance from Scotland in Albania as Shelley Kerr's side wrapped up 2019 with a 5-0 win in their UEFA Women's Euro 2021 qualifier.
Having won their first qualification game 8-0 against Cyprus in front of more than 6,000 fans at Easter Road, Scotland aimed to bring a historic year to an end in style.
Shelley Kerr handed a start to Kirsty Hanson and Hannah Godfrey as the duo made their debuts. Hanson was immediately involved too, but it was a familiar face who opened the scoring. Claire Emslie made no mistake from inside the six-yard box when the ball landed kindly for the Melbourne City forward, slamming the ball beyond the Albanian keeper in the 15th minute after Hanson's cross deflected in to her path.
Jane Ross may not get many easier goals than the one she bagged in the 22nd minute, but the striker will certainly not complain as she records her 60th international goal in her 130th appearance.
Ross was close to scoring her 61st goal just 15 minutes later, but her header flashed narrowly wide of the post.
Shelley Kerr's side started the second half as they finished the first, taking the game to the Albanian's.
Before long it was three thanks to great play from Lisa Evans. The Arsenal star cut in from the right, beat her marker and cut the ball back in from the by line for Erin Cuthbert to slide home, courtesy of a clever dummy from Caroline Weir.
Already a memorable occasion for debutant Godfrey, it became a dream debut when she scored Scotland's fourth. A terrific ball over the Alabanian defence found Godfrey, beating the offside trap, and tapping in from close range.
It became five for the evening as Christie Murray scored her fifth goal for Scotland, completing a stunning display away from home. Lisa Evans was again at the heart of it, cutting in from the right to tee up the unmarked Murray, who made no mistake to round off the night, and the calendar year, in style.
Scotland: Lee Alexander, Lisa Evans (sub Chloe Arthur 80mins), Emma Mitchell, Rachel Corsie, Leanne Crichton, Hannah Godfrey, Claire Emslie (sub Abbi Grant 75mins), Erin Cuthbert, Caroline Weir, Jane Ross (sub Christie Murray 67mins), Kirsty Hanson. Subs not used: Shannon Lynn, Jenna Fife, Rachel McLauchlan, Rachael Boyle, Abigail Harrison, Lucy Graham, Lizzie Arnot.
