Durham Cestria v Chester-le-Street Town
 Women's Football FA Women's Cup News - 10 Nov 2019
The Women's FA Cup - Road to the Final
Durham Cestria booked their place in the First Round when beating Norton & Stockton Ancients 6-2 on Sunday, Chloe Ryan scoring twice along with Jordan Atkinson, Molly Holder, Jennifer Knowles and Dannika Purdham. This earns Durham a local derby tie at home to Chester-le-Street Town, who defeated Newcastle Utd 3-1 with Kacie Elson, Nichole Havery and Laura Hockaday on target.
Originally formed as Birtley Phoenix and joining Chester-le-Street Town in 2009, the team quickly made its way up the women's football pyramid and won the Northern Division of the North East Women's League in 2011-12 with a 100% record, winning all sixteen games. The following season, they finished as Premier Division Champions, earning themselves promotion to the Northern Combination. The restructuring of the leagues in 2015 placed them in Northern Division One of the FA Women's Premier League, where they have remained since, achieving their highest ever position last season when they finished in third place. The club has also won the Durham County Cup on three occasions.
The team is managed by Barry McCrea with Paul Borthwick as Coach and Anna Collin as captain. Nichole Havery is the team's leading scorer this season with five goals to her name.
