Hearts are the winners of the SWPL 2 title race, making sure of finishing as Champions as they defeated Partick Thistle 3-0 on the final day of the season.
Andy Enwood's side went into the match requiring a point to be confirmed as title winners whilst Partick were still in the running for a top three place in their first season in the league.
Any pre-match nerves for Hearts were settled in the nineteenth minute when Rachel Walkingshaw gave them the lead and they crowned a memorable day when Danni McGinley bagged a second half brace to seal the result they needed.
As things turned out, any result would have been enough for Hearts as second placed Hamilton Academical were beaten 1-0 by FC Kilmarnock. The Accies needed to win, whilst hoping Hearts slipped up against Partick, but finish in the runners-up spot after Lisa Swanson scored the only goal of the game for Killie, midway through the first half.
Dundee Utd's first season in the league has ended in a third place finish, which they achieved with a 3-2 win away to Glasgow Girls. Isabella Rosalina gave United a first half lead which was cancelled out on the stroke of half time by Taylor Fisher, before Megan Burns and an own goal gave United the points after the break, despite Chloe Docherty pulling one back for the home side.
St Johnstone ensured they ended on a winning note, scoring ten times without reply past Hutchison Vale who will no doubt be relieved to have reached the climax of the campaign. Jade McDonald led the scoring for the Saints with a four-goal haul and Sophie Milligan contributed a double, whilst there was one apiece from Rachel Todd, Rebecca Foote, Hannah Clark and Ellie Cowie.
