Chester-le-Street Town v Loughborough Foxes
 Women's Football FA Women's Cup News - 1 Dec 2019

The Women's FA Cup - Road to the Final

Chester-le-Street Town were 3-1 winners in their north east local derby tie with Durham Cestria in the First Round. Nichole Havery scored twice and Laura Hockaday added the other for the Cestrians and they have been drawn at home to Loughborough Foxes, who enter the competition at the Second Round stage.

Loughborough Foxes Women have been in existence since 2005. In those 14 seasons they have progressed from the Leicestershire County Women's League to their current position in Tier 3 of women's football. The club has three women's teams and these form part of one of the biggest Women's and girls only team in the East Midlands, that also includes five junior teams which underpin the future development of all areas of the club.

The club's foundations are based about building "strength from sadness" as the Foxes actually started as a junior team in 1999 after the death of Rachel Fox, a then player. Twenty years on and the club also experienced sadness when former, player, coach and committee member Molly Webb also passed away after falling ill through Sepsis.

Foxes' rise to Tier 3 has been overseen by Director of Football, Steve Wilkinson, and former head coach Jen Sugarman whilst current head coach, Issy Martin is coming up to her first anniversary in charge of the team after taking over in January. The team is captained by Shauna Chambers and Becky McGrother is the leading scorer, whilst goalkeeper Amy Burle has been with the club for thirteen years now, since joining at Under-13 level.
