Women's Football News
Chesham Utd are through to the Second Round, where they will be up against Billericay Town, after they ran out 4-0 winners over Exeter City. A fantastic start to the game saw Chesham score all of their goals in the opening 28 minutes, Rebecca Bloor netting an early brace before Gemma Fraser added the other two in quick succession.
Stevenage Women booked their place in the quarter finals as they narrowly defeated Maidenhead Utd 3-2. Tamsyn Sibanda was on target twice for Stevenage, with Katie Knell adding their other goal, whilst Maidenhead responded with a double from Stephanie Nelson.
Leicester Utd and Leafield Athletic were finally able to play their much delayed First Round tie and it was Leafield who advanced with a 2-1 victory. Georgia Harris and Alice Rogers were on target for Leafield; Lily Cocking replied for Leicester but they could not prevent Leafield from going through and they will be away to West Bromwich Albion in the next round.
Division One North
Liverpool Feds have moved back into the top four, on the back of a 1-0 win away to Bradford City. Jennifer Rogers settled matters in the Feds' favour with the only goal of the game, three minutes before half time.
Stockport County meanwhile defeated Bolton Wanderers 4-1 to climb two places up the table and towards a mid-table position. Chloe Mapp netted a first half brace for County, with Sophie John and Imogen Porteous-Williams adding further goals after the break to propel their side to their best result of the season so far, whilst Bolton's consolation came from Shauna Jein.
Division One Midlands
The New Saints kept up their recent run of good form and are in third place in the table following their 7-1 victory over Burton Albion. Katie Doster led the scoring for TNS with a hat-trick, Jess Jennings contributed a brace and there was one apiece from Kim Bebbington and Laura Pennington, whilst Burton - who were playing a league match for the first time since 29th September - grabbed a consolation goal through Nina Warrington.
Bedworth Utd did not win any of their first five league matches but have won all of their five games since, including a 2-1 success against Long Eaton Utd on Sunday. Long Eaton went into the game in the top three in the league but despite a strike from Amy Pashley, Tiarna Gilkes and Jodi Hunter both scored to maintain Bedworth's fine run.
Division One South West
Brislington and Swindon Town were both in action for the first time in several weeks when they met each other at Ironmould Lane and it was Brislington who celebrated their first league victory of the season as they ran out 4-1 winners. Kim Maggs gave Brislington the lead on the quarter hour and after Suze Berry equalised for Swindon, Adele Brown replied quickly to put the home side ahead at the break. Maggs then scored her second five minutes after the restart and Rebecca Pritchard put the seal on the win for her side with the final goal, twenty minutes from time.
