Swansea City made sure they would go into the holiday break as leaders of the Orchard Welsh Premier Women's League, after scoring seven times without reply past Cyncoed Ladies.
Shaunna Jenkins fired the Swans into a fourteenth minute lead, with Emma Beynon and Stacey John-Davis adding further goals ahead of half time. Chloe Chivers netted the fourth within a minute of the restart and John-Davis scored her second, before Lauren Smith scored a quickfire double to round off her team's seventh victory in a row.
Cardiff City FC are back up into second place following their 2-1 win away to Port Talbot Town, in a match which saw a late flurry of goals. The deadlock was broken with twenty minutes remaining when Alana Murphy gave Cardiff the lead, but Port Talbot looked to have salvaged a point when Courtney Thomas equalised in the dying minutes. However, a minute later, City hit back again and Danielle Broadhurst grabbed a winning goal to keep her side three points behind leaders Swansea.
The other action took place in the League Cup, where Briton Ferry Llansawel were 4-2 winners away to Aberystwyth Town. Nia Davies gave Briton Ferry an early lead which was cancelled out on the stroke of half time by Tania Wylde. After the break, substitute Sophie Topper scored twice in a seven minute spell to put Briton Ferry in control of the game and Lowri Baker added the fourth, before Libby Isaac grabbed a consolation for Aberystwyth late on.
