The semi finals of the Welsh Premier Women's League Cup produced two good games and what is set to be an eagerly anticipated Final.
Holders Cardiff Met Women took on Cardiff City Women for the second time in four days, having met in the quarter finals of the FAW Women's Cup in midweek. City had triumphed 3-1 on that occasion, but this time it was a much closer affair and a different outcome. Met led for most of the game through an early strike from Erin Murray but with five minutes remaining, Kate Jeremiah brought City back on level terms. The two teams then exchanged goals in injury time, City netting through Catherine Walsh and Lucy Finch on target for the Archers, taking the game into a penalty shootout where Met emerged as winners and booked their place in the Final once again.
Met's opponents in the Final will be league leaders Swansea City, who enjoyed a smoother passage when beating Port Talbot Town 3-0. The Swans led at half time through a goal from Shaunna Jenkins and after the break, Sarah Adams increased their lead and Katy Hosford rounded off the scoring.
The League Cup Final between Cardiff Met Women and Swansea City will be played at Dragon Park, Newport on Sunday 29th March (kick off tbc).
