Sunderland West End are currently on a great winning run in league matches, and on Sunday they will have a chance to test themselves against FA Women's National League opposition in the Vitality Women's FA Cup.
Sunderland West End currently play in the Northern Division of the North East Regional Women's League and were massively disappointed last season after being denied promotion due to the season coming to an abrupt end, despite winning all 13 of their 13 league games.
The team have so far started the 2020-21 season very well, winning the first two league games and scoring 16 goals in the process, so the ladies were buzzing after seeing the Second Round Qualifying draw for the FA Cup, giving them a tough game away to Bradford City.
Although Bradford currently play two leagues above West End with some great players, and they know it is going to be their toughest test in a competitive environment for a number of years, the whole squad is massively excited for the test, with everyone dreaming of ‘that' classic underdog upset.
West End captain Samantha Minniss said: "We know this is going to be our toughest challenge yet, but this is the furthest we've ever made it in the FA Cup, so we are just going to enjoy the experience of the game and hope for an upset."
