Glasgow Girls took the honours in SWPL2 with the biggest win on the opening day, 4-0 against Stirling University.
Abbi McDonald, Lucy Ronald and Eve Donald ensured that Glasgow were three ahead at half time, with Suzanne MacTaggart adding the fourth after the restart.
Partick Thistle meanwhile returned from Queen's Park with a 3-0 victory under their belts. All three goals came during the second half, Eleanor Smith giving the Jags the lead before they added further goals from Cheryl Hogg and Demi-Lee Falconer.
Hamilton Academical, runners-up last time around, got off to a winning start when they defeated Boroughmuir Thistle 3-1. Amy Anderson netted a double for the Accies just before the break and Chloe Muir wrapped up the win with the third goal, before Beth MacLeod grabbed a consolation for Boroughmuir.
Aberdeen edged out Dundee Utd by the odd goal in seven in a thrilling match on their return to the league. However they had to do it the hard way as United raced into a two-goal lead lead inside the opening sixteen minutes, courtesy of Tammy-Lee Harkin and Steffi Simson, with Eilidh Shore pulling one back before the end of the first half. Stina Kleppe netted a third for United earlyafter the restart, but Francesca Ogilvie and Bayley Hutchison brought the scores level before Eva Thomson completed the comeback for Aberdeen with the winning goal in injury time.
