The Orchard Welsh Premier Women's League made a welcome return to action over the weekend after missing the last three Sundays, and leaders Cardiff Met Women were quickly back in the groove with an impressive 5-0 victory over Cardiff City Women.
Met were in front after twenty minutes thanks to Chloe Connor and after Shannon Evans added a quickfire double, Jodie Passmore ensured that they were four up at the interval. Passmore rounded off the scoring with her second after the break, for a win which takes Met three points clear at the top of the table.
Champions Swansea City are now second after they ran out 7-1 winners over Briton Ferry Llansawel. Stacey John-Davis and Tija Richardson gave the Swans a two-goal lead going into the break and Richardson netted twice more within seven minutes of the restart, to complete her hat-trick. Briton Ferry pulled a goal back through Megan Kearle but two goals in quick succession from John-Davis saw her register her own hat-trick, before Emma Beynon netted the final goal with six minutes remaining. The win takes Swansea above Abergavenny Women, whose scheduled match with Port Talbot Town was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
Cyncoed Ladies are in the top half of the table following their 2-0 victory against Cascade Youth Club. After a goalless first half, Millie Jones gave Cyncoed the lead just ahead of the hour mark and Caitlin Bevan secured the points for her side in injury time with the second goal.
