With FA Women's Championship leaders Leicester City not playing on Sunday, Durham Women took the opportunity to move level on points with them by beating London Bees 1-0.
Bridget Galloway scored the only goal of the game, seven minutes into the second half, to extend the Wildcats' unbeaten run to fourteen matches.
Sheffield Utd are seven points off the pace after making it two wins in a row with a 2-0 success away to Lewes. Katie Wilkinson opened the scoring for the Blades on 27 minutes when she headed in a cross by Rebecca Rayner and the in-form striker netted her second after the break, curling home a free kick from the edge of the area.
London City Lionesses lifted themselves up into fifth place, their highest position of the season to date, thanks to a 3-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers. The Lionesses took the lead shortly before half time through Elizabeta Ejupi and Atlanta Primus added a second just ahead of the break. Ejupi rounded off the scoring with her second goal, ten minutes into the second half.
On Thursday night, London City Lionesses completed a good week for themselves by winning 1-0 away to Charlton Athletic in their South London derby match. The Addicks were playing their first match for seven weeks and grew stronger in the second half but the game was settled with its only goal, five minutes before half time, through a superb individual effort from Kallie Balfour.
