London City Lionesses made it three wins on the trot and went level on points with fourth placed Liverpool in the FA Women's Championship following a thrilling 3-2 victory away to Lewes.
The Rookettes took an early lead through Ini Umotong but goals in a five minute spell from Atlanta Primus and Kallie Balfour ensured that the Lionesses went into the half time interval in front. After the break, Alli Murphy shot over from the penalty spot for the Lionesses and this miss looked even costlier with eight minutes remaining as Lewes were awarded a penalty of their own and Umotong tucked away her second goal to level the scores. However as the game went into injury time, Ellie Mason fired home from a corner to give the Lionesses the three points.
Crystal Palace moved themselves closer towards the mid-table positions by running out 5-0 winners over London Bees. Both teams exchanged chances early on, with Helen Ward hitting the post for the Bees, before a devastating ten minute spell saw Palace take a firm grip on the game. Bianca Baptiste opened the scoring with a fine solo effort and Coral-Jade Haines quickly added a second. Baptiste then broke through to net her second as did Haines three minutes later from a Baptiste cross. Kate Natkiel rounded off a fine day for Palace as she curled home the final goal, eleven minutes from time.
