Leyton Orient set for big occasion
 Women's Football FA Women's Cup News - 10 Apr 2021

FA Women's Cup News - Leyton Orient set for big occasion - 10 Apr 2021 - Women's Football NewsLeyton Orient have made club history by reaching the Third Round of the Vitality Women's FA Cup for the first time, and they are aiming to go even further when they take on Chichester & Selsey on Sunday.

The occasion will be an even bigger one for the team as it will be played at Brisbane Road and will be streamed live on the Leyton Orient FC YouTube channel. A further boost has come with a new shirt sponsor in Digitonic and the cup run has been a huge tonic after the decision to curtail the FAWNL season.

"We're really excited to be playing in the FA Cup Third Round and especially to play at Brisbane Road," defender Kate Bradley (pictured) told Women's Soccer Scene. "It's a great stadium and Sunday will be a special occasion for us, hopefully we can cap it with a win!

"We have tough opposition in Chichester & Selsey who are a strong side from the National League Southern Premier but we see it as an opportunity to show what we can do. We're an ambitious club who want to be playing in the league above and a win against Chichester would show we're capable of that.

"We've worked so hard over lockdown and we really want to put that into practice now and get as far as we can in the FA Cup. As our league has been curtailed, we're playing for our season on Sunday so it's a massive game and one we're all really up for. It's great that the game is being live-streamed on the Leyton Orient FC YouTube channel, as our game is behind closed doors so it gives everyone the chance to watch us. We promise to put in a good show!"

Full back Sophie Lee added: "We are all really looking forward to this weekend's FA Cup Third Round match against Chichester & Selsey. It's going to be a challenging match but one we believe we can win. It's a big occasion and to play at The Breyer Group Stadium makes it even more exciting."
