Eastern Region League
The first round of matches in the Challenge Cup were played on Sunday and it was Harlow Town who recorded the biggest win on the day, scoring seven times without reply against Wodson Park. AFC Dunstable also started well by beating Haringey Borough 5-1. Gemma Darvill, Chelsea Jeffrey, Tia Steadman, Lori Wilson-Phillips and Hannah Ring were all on target for Dunstable, with Kasandra Rukat replying. Chelsea Clarke (2), Laura Nicholls and Hannah Waters were the markswomen for Wymondham Town as they defeated Colney Heath 4-0, whilst Bowers & Pitsea won 3-0 against Stevenage Women Development thanks to a Sarah Wilson double and Sophie Rhodes. Goals from Carla Penny (2) and Grace Stanley steered Cambridge City Development to a 3-1 success away to Wroxham, whose consolation came from Kayleigh Holloway, Ruth Fox meanwhile netted twice for St Ives Town in their 2-0 win against Needham Market. Bedf0rd Ladies were 3-2 winners at King's Lynn Town and Haverhill Rovers edged out Royston Town on a penalty shootout, winning 10-9 from the spot after the match had finished level at 4-4. Jenna Wright had scored twice for Haverhill during open play along with Stacey Roper and Charlotte Westrope.
Southern Region League
Abingdon Utd were the leaders of the Premier Division when the league season was halted and they opened up in the Subsidiary Cup with a 7-1 victory over Oxford City on Sunday. Sadie Timbs and Molly Lygo-Jackson led the scoring with two goals apiece, while Rosie McCabe, Kiera Isaac and Tiana Russell-Cartwright were also on target. AFC Bournemouth CST meanwhile netted six times without reply, Molly Clark hitting a hat-trick along with one apiece from Katie Kingshott, Becky Barron and Chloe Newton. Nicole Brown (2), Amy Woollard, Darcey Young and Emma Hutton accounted for the goals as Ascot Utd defeated Abbey Rangers 5-0. New Milton Town won 2-1 against AFC Bournemouth CST Development thanks to Olivia Bessant and Lucy Slater, with Lucy Coalter replying.
Bristol Lockdown Friendly Cup
Eight teams which play in the South West Women's Regional League are playing a tournament with two groups of four, which got underway on Sunday.
Bristol Ladies Union started their group matches well, running out 7-1 winners over AEK Boco. Kate Morgan and Stella Gandee-Morgan each scored twice along with Madison Price, Rhianna Ben-Carew and Hannah Price, whilst Boco's consolation came from Eloise Nicholas. In the other match, a solitary goal from Ruby Michael earned Frampton Rangers a 1-0 victory away to Downend Flyers.
Almondsbury opened up by beating Oldland Abbotonians 4-0, thanks to a goal apiece from Emma Summerill, Maddie Wood, Amy Jefferies and Adele Brown. Chipping Sodbury meanwhile won 3-1 against Portishead Town, Tianna Bishop and Estelle Randall scoring along with an own goal, Portishead's consolation coming from Molly Yeatman.
