Chichester & Selsey have the chance to take on FA WSL side West Ham United this week in the Fourth Round of the Vitality Women's FA Cup, following their 2-1 win away to Leyton Orient last Sunday.
Chi midfielder Gemma Simmonds is looking forward to taking on their illustrious opponents, telling Women's Soccer Scene: "For everyone connected with the club, it is very exciting to be playing West Ham in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup. With the the unfortunate stoppages this season and also the league being declared null and void, our aim was to progress as far as possible in the cup. Obviously we know it's going to be a tough game but we don't want our season to end just yet, we will be looking to give everything we can on Sunday.
"As a footballer, you always want to play against the best teams and in the best league as possible. It is a chance for us to challenge ourselves and I am relishing the prospect of playing against a WSL team. Hopefully we can perform well and showcase what we are about.
"We will want to ensure we stay focused during the game and try not to get too carried away with the occasion. Also, we want to try and play the football we know we can that has helped us be more successful and effective this season. Ultimately we want to enjoy the game of football because it has been such a great feeling to be back playing again!"
