Cliftonville have moved to within a single point of Danske Bank NI Women's Premiership table toppers Glentoran following their 3-1 victory away to Sion Swifts.
With the Glens not having a game, the Reds - who still have a game in hand on the leaders - took full advantage with three goals in a seven minute spell either side of half time. Louise McDaniel gave Cliftonville the lead two minutes before the interval and upon resumption, the Reds increased their advantage thanks to further strikes from Kirsty McGuinness and Megan Weatherall. Cora Chambers grabbed a late consolation for Sion who went down to their seventh defeat in nine matches.
The other match to take place also resulted in a 3-1 away win, for Crusaders Strikers at Linfield. All of the Crues' goals came during the first half, Emily Wilson netting twice inside the opening twelve minutes and Danielle McDowell adding a third just ahead of the break. Rebecca McKenna reduced the arrears during the second half but Crusaders saw the game out to increase the gap between the two teams to six points.
