Glens keep up the pace
 Women's Football Club News - 2 Aug 2021
Glentoran stay one point ahead at the top of the Danske Bank NI Women's Premiership after scoring nine times without reply past Linfield Ladies.
Kerry Beattie and Joely Andrews put the Glens two ahead inside the opening twelve minutes, before Jessica Foy added a quickfire double. Casey Howe then hit a second half hat-trick, with the scoring being rounded off by an own goal and a late Rachel Rogan strike.
Cliftonville meanwhile won 3-1 away to Crusaders Strikers to ensure they stay hard on Glentoran's heels. Kirsty McGuinness gave the Reds a first half lead which was cancelled out on the stroke of half time by Amy McGivern, but after the break, Marissa Callaghan restored Cliftonville's lead and Toni-Leigh Finnegan secured the points from the penalty spot.
Sion Swifts kept up their superb run of form, making it six wins on the trot in all competitions by beating Derry City 4-0. Kerry Brown opened the scoring via a penalty and Hayley O'Donnell made it two before half time. In the second half, substitute Caoirse Doherty wrapped up a fine day for her team by scoring a further two goals.
