Opening televised matches selected
 Women's Football FA WSL news - 10 Aug 2021

The Football Association is pleased to confirm the first five rounds of fixtures selected for live broadcast over the opening weekends of the 2021-22 Barclays FA Women's Super League season - with Manchester United and Reading FC Women set to open the campaign live on Sky Sports Premier League under the Friday night lights.

United, under new head coach Marc Skinner, will welcome Kelly Chambers' Reading to Leigh Sports Village on Friday 3rd September (7.45pm), before the first Barclays FA Women's Super League match on BBC One takes place the following day, with Everton set to entertain Manchester City on Saturday 4th September at Goodison Park (1.30pm).

Sky Sports Premier League will host its second match of the weekend from The Emirates Stadium as Arsenal, under new coach Jonas Eidevall, welcome Champions Chelsea, who have won the Barclays FA WSL title for the last two seasons. The match will kick off at 12.30pm on Sunday 5th September.

The new broadcast deal secured with Sky Sports, who will show all 12 clubs in the opening five rounds, and the BBC, who will bring the league to BBC One and BBC Two for the first time, will show more live matches than ever before.

A number of international broadcasters will once again be showcasing the Barclays FA Women's Super League, and for those countries that do not have a broadcast agreement in place, matches will be viewable through the FA Player.

The FA will continue to show one match per week on its streaming service, the FA Player, from the FA Women's Championship starting with Crystal Palace's home match against Bristol City.

The opening fixtures selected for the opening weeks can be seen below. Matches not selected will have full match highlights the following day.
