With four matches left to play in the Danske Bank NI Women's Premiership season, the two title challengers are neck and neck following Wednesday's matches.
Glentoran are back on top of the table on goal difference after they won 3-1 against Sion Swifts. Shannon Dunne gave the Glens a thirteenth minute lead, which was doubled on the stroke of half time by Lauren Wade. Cora Chambers gave Sion renewed hope when she pulled a goal back midway through the second half, but Casey Howe secured the points for Glentoran seven minutes later.
Cliftonville Ladies had started the day on top but were held to a goalless draw by a determined Linfield side. The Reds therefore slip back into second whilst fifth placed Linfield picked up their best result of the season to date.
Derry City meanwhile registered only their second league win of the season, beating Crusaders Strikers 2-1. Caroline Gallagher put the Candystripes in front just ahead of the break and Cathleen Kelly doubled their advantage during the second half, before Caitlyn Hamilton grabbed a consolation for the Crues.
