Wolverhampton Wanderers returned to the top of the FAWNL Northern Premier Division in midweek with a 4-0 victory away to Stoke City.
Anna Morphet, Helen Dermody, Tammi George and Leo Joyce all scored for Wolves who lead by a point from Derby County, who beat Loughborough Lightning 3-0 thanks to two from in-form Ellie Gilliatt and Megan Tinsley. Brittany Sanderson (2), Laura Elford (2), Kate Mallin and Ria Montgomery gave Huddersfield Town a 6-0 win at Sheffield FC and an Amy Woodruff goal saw Brighouse Town to a 1-0 success over Burnley FC Women. West Bromwich Albion and Nottingham Forest battled out a goalless draw which meant that none of the five home teams scored a goal.
The top two in the Southern Premier Division did not play and Bridgwater Utd are up to third as a Poppy Wilson double, Sydney Hinchcliffe, Alice Griffiths, Bow Jackson, Amy Goddard, Chloe Gilroy, Jasmine Turner and Laura Holden all scored against Keynsham Town. Crawley Wasps went down 1-0 to Gillingham, an injury time Amy Russ goal making it four wins on the trot. Shannon Albuery, Danielle Lane and Samantha Quayle gave Portsmouth a 3-1 victory over Chichester & Selsey, who replied through Amber Howden, meanwhile London Bees won 5-1 at Milton Keynes Dons courtesy of a Nicole Jancey hat-trick and Jo Wilson double, before Tricia Gould grabbed a late consolation for the Dons.
