England Under-23 squad named for camp

Emma Coates has selected a 25-player squad for matches against Germany and France.

The Young Lionesses are back in action and will play two home matches in February to start the year. Coates’ side will first welcome Germany to the

Poundland Bescot Stadium, home of Walsall FC, on Thursday 20 February (19:30 GMT), before travelling to Stevenage FC’s Lamex Stadium on

Tuesday 25 February (19:30 GMT) to take on France.

Tickets for both fixtures can be purchased directly from Walsall and Stevenage, priced at £5 for adults, £3 for concessions and £1 for under-12s.

The WU23s last played France in a 1-0 victory away from home in November 2023, with a strike from Katie Robinson earning all three points in the European competition. The Walsall fixture will mark the first time England have played Germany in the WU23 age category since 2010, with Germany joining the European competition the Young Lionesses compete in at the start of the 2024/25 season.

Emma Coates said: “I’m really looking forward to getting the players and staff together again. We have two exciting fixtures to kick off the year, against two tough European opponents. It’s exciting that we’ll be playing in two different parts of the country, and the players will have two chances to play in front of a home crowd and connect with the fans. We hope to see as many Lionesses fans as possible turn out to see the next generation in action.”
