FA Women’s National League

League Cup

Plymouth Argyle reached their first major cup final when they stormed to an impressive 4-1 win over Burnley FC Women in their semi final clash at Home Park. Burnley started the game well and took the lead just before the quarter hour through Millie Ravening but an equaliser on the stroke of half time from Tianna Teisar proved to be the turning point. Phoebie Poole put Argyle ahead for the first time, six minutes into the second half, and Teisar's second tightened their grip on the game before Poole also completed her double in injury time.

Plymouth must wait and see who their opponents in the Final at Loftus Road will be, due to the other semi final between West Bromwich Albion and AFC Bournemouth was postponed.

League Plate

Cheadle Town Stingers have had a good season to date and they will be in the Final of the Plate following their 2-0 victory against Halifax FC Women. Kenzie Bartley gave the Stingers a third minute lead and they put the seal on the result when substitute Rebekah Coe netted the second, nine minutes from time.

In the Final. Cheadle will be up against Moneyfields who were also 2-0 winners against higher division opposition in Gwalia Utd. Goals in the opening sixteen minutes from Shannon Albuery and Brooke Garcia set the Moneys on the way as they maintained their pursuit of two possible trophies this season.

Northern Premier Division

Rugby Borough edged closer towards the top two as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Middlesbrough. Ebony Wiseman gave Rugby the lead five minutes before half time but they are now five points off the pace after 'Boro battled back after the break to earn themselves a share of the spoils, thanks to an equaliser from Armani Maxwell.

The points were also shared in the other game to be played as Sporting Khalsa and Hull City finished level at 2-2. Khalsa went into the match look for a win which would lift them off the bottom of the table but despite a first half double from Lowri Walker, Ellie Tanser netted twice in reply as Hull picked up another important point which keeps them away from danger.

Southern Premier Division

The only match to be played in the division on Sunday sadly did not reach a conclusion due to an injury forcing an abandonment.

Lewes played host to Exeter City at the Dripping Pan and it was the visitors who took a first half lead through Amber Pollock, with Ruby Seaby equalising for the Rookettes after the break. The game remained poised at 1-1 when Exeter captain Bow Jackson suffered an injury late on and it was abandoned during injury time.

Division One North

Wythenshawe have gone back to the top of the congested table after they ran out 4-1 winners away to Norton & Stockton Ancients. Chelsea Flanagan was on target twice for Wythenshawe along with Katie O'Gara and Ella Ritchie, with the home side's consolation coming from Louise Atkinson.

Durham Cestria's surge up the table continues and they are now in the top half following their 5-1 success at Blackburn Rovers. Faye Dale was on target twice for the Wildcats along with Mia Gibbon, Grace Monkhouse and Lieucu Mathias, with Chung Karri Chan replying.

Doncaster Rovers Belles meanwhile gave their hopes of climbing out of the bottom two a boost when they defeated York City 2-0. Abigail Coley and Betty Cheetham scored first half goals to move the Belles to within a single point of their opponents and complete a clean sweep of away wins in the division on the day.

Division One Midlands

Peterborough Utd closed the gap on leaders Boldmere St Michaels to two points by scoring six times without reply past Lincoln Utd. Jessica Rousseau scored a goal in each half for the Posh Women, whose other markswomen were Poppie Brown, Rebecca Mears, Hayley James and Evie Driscoll-King.

At the other end of the table, Northampton Town leapfrogged Kidderminster Harriers and out of the bottom three after winning their meeting 2-1. Lacey Snape gave Northampton an early lead which was quickly cancelled out by Millie Rogers, with Fay Noble netting the winning goal just after the hour mark.

Division One South East

Norwich City have taken over at the top of the table following their 3-2 victory against Queen's Park Rangers. Grace Riglar netted twice for the Canaries and Faith Harrison added the other, with Rangers scoring through Emily Hill and Jess Leach.

Chatham Town made the trip to Cambridge Utd and returned with a 3-0 win under their belts. All of the Chats' goals came in the first half, Amelia Woodgate giving them the lead after eleven minutes and Amy Russ crowning the result with a double.

Dulwich Hamlet continued their improving form and moved up the table with a 2-1 success away to Chesham Utd. The first half was goalless and it was Chesham who took the lead on the hour thanks to Jenny Nagle, before Hamlet turned the game around to take points with goals from Jordyn Galway and Lucy Monkman.

There were plenty of goals on offer at Luton Town where the home side shared a 3-3 draw with AFC Sudbury. Natasha Fensome, Courtnay Ward-Chambers and Amy McLean all scored for Luton, whilst Sudbury netted through an Amy-Leigh Abrehart double and Kaci-Jai Bonwick.

Division One South West

Whilst they were reaching the Plate Final with a 2-0 victory over Gwalia Utd, leaders Moneyfields were given the news that title rivals Swindon Town had gone down to their first defeat of the season, beaten 1-0 by Maidenhead Utd. Megan Harper scored the only goal of the game, midway through the second half, to bring an end to Swindon's eleven-match winning run and hand Maidenhead one of the results of the season in the league so far.

Bristol Rovers and Bridgwater Utd continue to occupy the next two places but neither was able to gain any significant ground on the top two as they battled out a goalless draw. Neither team was able to pierce two strong defences who kept chances at either end to a minimum.

The Ascot Utd revival continues and a third straight win in a week has taken them into a mid-table position. This time they played host to Marine Academy Plymouth in a clash between the two newly promoted sides and after Darcey Maxted had given Ascot a first half lead, they went on to seal the points after the break with further strikes from Erin Huntley and Anaisa Harney.

Reserve Section round-up...

Stoke City have stretched their lead at the top of the Northern Division to six points after Kaya Anderson (2), Ruby Millington (2), Eva Henshall and an own goal gave them a 6-1 victory over Notts County. Second placed Middlesbrough meanwhile lost ground when they were beaten 2-0 by Derby County, whose scorers were Ruby Strutt and Chloe Smith.

In the Premier Division, Ipswich Town and Billericay Town occupy the two two places after their meeting ended in a 1-1 draw, Lottie Barker scoring for Ipswich who are the leaders on goal difference. AFC Bournemouth bounced back from defeat the previous week and it was Keynsham Town who caught the backlash, Elin Starck hitting a hat-trick for the Cherries along with Kristina MacKinnon (2), Dani Stannard, Lily Yeatman, Isla Betts and Evie Murphy.

Moneyfields have moved into top spot in the Championship Division, on the back of a 3-1 victory over Bridgwater Utd in which Riley Barnett (2) and Poppy Turner were on the scoresheet. Holly Randall was on target for Queen's Park Rangers in their 1-1 draw with Rugby Borough, who equalised through Eva Buckley.
