FA Women’s National League



League Cup


A goal midway through the second half from Millie Bell took Middlesbrough into the last sixteen with an excellent 1-0 victory over Rugby Borough. Three late goals helped Wolverhampton Wanderers towards a 5-0 success away to Sporting Khalsa, with Amy Sims, Louanne Worsey, Chloe Williams, Georgia Marshall and Amber Hughes all getting on the scoresheet, whilst first half goals from Monique Robinson and Phoebe Warner took West Bromwich Albion to a 2-0 win against Stoke City. Liverpool Feds made light of a tricky tie away to Leafield Athletic with a 6-1 victory. Katie Anderson, Evie Smith, Emily Cole, Chloe Fisher, Jessica Brady and Henna Butcher all scored for the Feds, with Evie Gallop replying. Lucy Loomes was the heroine for AFC Sudbury as she hit a hat-trick in their 3-1 victory over Boldmere St Michaels, whose consolation came from Janelle Straker.


League Plate


One match was played in the Plate on Sunday, Faye Dale and Grace Forster netting the goals as Durham Cestria booked their place in the last sixteen with a 2-0 victory over Sheffield Utd Academy.


Northern Premier Division


Halifax FC Women produced one of the results of the season so far in holding high flying Burnley FC Women to a goalless draw. A win would have taken Burnley top of the table on goal difference but instead they remain in second place, two points behind leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.


The other match played in the division on Sunday also ended with honours even as Hull City and Derby County battled out a 1-1 draw. Hull took a first half lead through Hope Knight and ten minutes after the break, Olivia Edwards levelled the scores to ensure that Hull stay in sixth place, three positions ahead of Derby although just a single point separates the two teams.


Southern Premier Division


Watford have gone top of the table for the first time this season following a 3-1 victory over Hashtag Utd, all of the goals coming in the first half. Anne Meiwald and Coral-Jade Haines put them two ahead inside the opening quarter of the game and after Ellie Moore pulled one back for the Tags, Madison Perry sealed the points for Watford when she netted the third just before the break.


The two other teams alongside Watford in the top three met each other at Home Park and the spoils were shared as Plymouth Argyle and AFC Bournemouth battled out a goalless draw in front of a crowd of 1,454. The result means that the Cherries are back in second place, two points behind leaders Watford, whilst Argyle are a further three points adrift.


Real Bedford are one of the division's form teams and their fifth win on the trot, 2-0 against Exeter City, sees them replace Plymouth in third place. Both goals came in the final fifteen minutes of the match, Issy Bryant giving Real the lead and Leyla O'Brien sealing the points with the second goal.


Oxford Utd are back up into fifth position after scoring ten times without reply past Billericay Town. Emma Thompson and Holly Manders each scored hat-tricks for the U's, Maisy Barker weighed in with a brace and there was one apiece from Naomi Bedeau and Nicola Gibson.


Lewes meanwhile leapfrogged Gwalia Utd into the top half of the table after winning their meeting 4-0. Olivia Carpenter, Leah Lane and Rebekah Trewhitt put the Rookettes three ahead at the interval, before Hannah Godfrey added the fourth goal during the second half.


The only away team to win on the day was Cheltenham Town, who were 2-1 victors at AFC Wimbledon. Megan Arnott put Cheltenham in front on the half hour and after Daisy McLachlan equalised during the second half, Clarabella Hall struck shortly afterwards to hand them their third win of the season.


Division One North


Cheadle Town Stingers extended their lead to five points after making it six wins on the trot, beating Norton & Stockton Ancients 4-0. Imogen Porteous-Williams gave them an early lead which was doubled by Jessica Gillin, before Yasmin Ahmed and Isobel Dean added further goals after the break.


Huddersfield Town had started the day in second place but lost ground by going down to a 1-0 defeat against Leeds Utd. Amy Woodruff grabbed the only goal of the game for Leeds, seven minutes from time, for a result which puts them firmly in amongst the leading sides.


With Stockport County not having a game, second place was therefore on offer for Wythenshawe Ladies as they travelled to York City, and took the opportunity with a hard earned 4-2 victory. Kirsty Chambers and Olivia Dixon gave them a two-goal lead in the first half, before York hit back to level the scores before the break thanks to Rosie Bell and Ruby Watt. After the break, Ciara Boylan and Grace Bradley both scored to seal a result which takes Wythenshawe into their highest position so far.


Chorley returned to winning ways with a 2-0 success away to Doncaster Rovers Belles. Olivia Ellinson and Nicola Worthington were the markswomen for the Magpies to help them secure their place in the top half.


Chester-le-Street Town meanwhile moved themselves into a mid-table position, thanks to a 2-1 win at Blackburn Rovers. Laura Hockaday bagged both goals for the Cestrians, with Rovers replying through Lucy-May Allman.


Division One Midlands


The top two in the table did not play on Sunday and they have been joined at the top by Barnsley Women following their 2-1 victory away to Stourbridge. Jodie Michalska scored a goal in each half to earn Barnsley a fifth win of the season, whilst the Glassgirls' reply came from Sophie Phillips.


Kidderminster Harriers have climbed up into fifth place after they defeated Lincoln Utd 4-2. Lincoln had led at the break through Madison Green and Alice Hayes but Harriers, who had earlier scored through Beth Gallagher, hit back in the second half to take the points with strikes from Lucy Pugh, Millie Rogers and Ellie McGovern.


Worcester City went level on points with Notts County after winning their meeting 4-0. Maia Clark had a great day in front of goal for City as she hit a hat-trick and Charlotte Poole joined her on the scoresheet.


Sutton Coldfield Town meanwhile leapfrogged Northampton Town and out of the bottom three by beating them 2-0. Reia Henry gave Sutton a seventh minute lead and they went on to seal the points when Freya Smith netted the second just before the hour.


Division One South East


Fulham stay three points clear at the top following their 5-1 victory over Chesham Utd. Megalie Mendes and Rebecca Stormer put them two goals ahead and after Jenny Nagle pulled on back for the Clarets, Stella Gandee-Morgan restored the advantage ahead of half time. Madison Parsonson and Sasha Adamson crowned the win with further goals late on.


Norwich City stayed on their heels in second place by scoring five times without reply past Milton Keynes Dons. Natasha Snelling was on target twice for the Canaries along with Holly Kennard, Freya Symonds and Isabelle Moore.


London Bees moved into the top three with a 3-1 success away to Dulwich Hamlet. Lily Whitelock bagged a brace for the Bees and Cheyenne Flynn was also on the scoresheet, with Asia Brown replying.


Queen's Park Rangers went level on points with Cambridge Utd after winning their meeting 3-1. Anna Dzyadyk, Emily Hill and Jess Leach scored the goals to take Rangers up to fourth, whilst the U's consolation came from Shannon Shaw.


Chatham Town follow on after battling to a 2-1 win away to Actonians Ladies. Romany Wellington scored for the Chats along with an own goal, whilst the A's replied through Katherine Turner.


Division One South West


Swindon Town made it six wins out of six but were pushed all the way in a 2-1 victory against Bournemouth Sports. Sarah King and Gipsy Viveash netted the goals for Swindon, with Freya Jennings replying late on.


Bristol Rovers are back in second on goal difference following a 4-0 win over local rivals Portishead Town. Megan Jarvis netted twice to keep up her good form in front of goal, with Maisy Collis and Chloe Bassett joining her on the scoresheet with goals either side of half time.


Moneyfields kept themselves firmly in contention, thanks to a 3-0 victory against Maidenhead Utd. The Moneys took a two-goal lead into the break courtesy of Megan Fox and Daisy Beard, with Ali Hall adding the third midway through the second half.


Bridgwater Utd consolidated themselves in third place as three second half goals fired them to a 3-0 success at Ascot Utd. Abbie Carslake, Zoe Watkins and Emily Nicholson were all on the scoresheet for the Somerset side.


Marine Academy Plymouth climbed up into fifth place, their highest of the season to date, when they defeated Worthing 2-0 with Ellie Bishop and Clara Martin getting on the scoresheet.


Abingdon Utd eased to a 4-1 victory over Keynsham Town, which takes them into a mid-table position. Molly Lygo-Jackson was on target twice and the other markswomen were Mimi Hodges and Isobel Bradley, with the visitors' consolation coming from Jenna Bakehouse.


Reserve Section Leagues round-up...


Rugby Borough are through to the Second Round of the Reserve League Cup after narrowly getting better of Keynsham Town by the odd goal in seven in a thrilling match. Isabel Mawby netted twice along with Elodie Garrison and Maidson Brown to take Rugby through, whilst Keynsham's replies came from Maddie Iles, Nicola Heath and Alaiya Beale. Also progressing are Billericay Town who scored six times without reply past Maidenhead Utd, courtesy of a goal apiece from Dulcie Galbally, Darcy Drewitt, Nell Doe, Jessica Winstone-Adair, Aimee Cawood and Kayla Grain.


In the Reserve League Plate, Middlesbrough ran out 6-0 winners over York City with doubles from Amber Rodgers and Katherine Hedley, with Meadow Boyle and Estelle Husband adding the other goals. Meanwhile Queen's Park Rangers defeated Swindon Town 5-1 with strikes from Deja Bass (2), Paige Hoile, Libby Monaghan and Adonia McNeilly.
