FA Women’s National League


Division One North


One match was played in the division on Sunday and it turned out to be a good day for Chorley, who moved level on points with top two Cheadle Town Stingers and Leeds Utd with a 5-2 victory against Norton & Stockton Ancients. Safron Newhouse was on target twice for the Magpies and she was joined on the scoresheet by Megan Parker, Faye Stanhope and Nicola Worthington, whilst Bianca Owens bagged a brace in reply for Norton.


Division One Midlands


Notts County have moved up into fifth place, their highest position of the season to date, after running out 5-0 winners away to Solihull Moors. Jessie Knott and Lily Stevenson gave County a two-goal lead going into half time and both players went on to complete their doubles after the break, after Laura Vine had netted the third.  


Division One South East


The top of the table clash went the way of Real Bedford, who replaced Actonians Ladies as leaders after narrowly beating them 1-0. Leyla O’Brien scored the only goal of the game, sixteen minutes from time, to see Real head the table by a single point from Actonians, with a game in hand.


Dulwich Hamlet notched up their fifth victory of the season, beating Chesham Utd 3-1. Gemma Fraser gave Chesham an early lead, with Hamlet hitting back with goals from Lily Price and Tia Searle putting them ahead at the break, before Iesha Swaby wrapped up the win with the third goal.  


Reserve Section round-up


Middlesbrough defeated Stockport County 4-0 to make a swift return to the top of the Northern Division. Maddie Myers, Mya Forgie and Annabelle Thomas ensured that ‘Boro were three goals ahead at half time, with Ella Hopson adding the final goal after the break. Liverpool Feds meanwhile won 2-0 against third placed York City, Laura Pilgrim and Fatima Santos Costa scoring their goals.


The two teams at the top of the Midland Division met for the first time this season and Stoke City were narrow 4-3 winners over Derby County, to open up a lead of four points. Kaya Anderson netted twice for Stoke along with Ruby Millington and Kitty Roche, whilst Derby’s replies came from Maya Williams (2) and Hope Bressington. Doncaster Rovers Belles have gone third after winning a high scoring affair 7-5 at Rugby Borough, Abigail Coley scoring twice along with Lilli-Mae Broadhurst, Marelle Carlisle, Alisha Appleby, Holly Findlay and Maisie Everitt. Tiarna Grizzle, Mia Lawson-Spencer and Pheena Smith all scored for Sporting Khalsa in their 3-3 draw with Sutton Coldfield Town, who netted through Twania Costa-Demba, Taylor-Mae Knight and an own goal.


Watford march on at the top of the South East & Central Division, claiming a seventh straight win when scoring eight times without reply past Queen’s Park Rangers thanks to Chloe Kabo (2), Isabella Sturmey, Saoirse Hourigan, Elsie Grant, Charlotte Byde, Bronte Young and Jada Deane. Second placed Ipswich Town also won, 6-2 at Maidenhead Utd with Megan McCrae-Robinson (2), Clara Armsby, Lottie Barker, Erin Williams and Dulcie King all on the scoresheet.


No matches were played in the South West Division on Sunday.
