Winchester City Flyers scored a hatful of Adobe Women’s FA Cup goals to move into the Third Round Qualifying at the expense of Dorset County League visitors Dorchester Town.

The difference of two tiers was clearly illustrated by a rampant Flyers team who never wavered in intensity and attacking intent against a hard working Magpies team who had won their previous league match by eight goals.

 

The first half was notable for the shoot on sight policy of the hosts and their six-goal interval lead was marked by long range strikes. The opening goal owed more to a precision pass from Emma Whitlock to release Shayne Prasad for the first of her hat trick on five minutes.

 

Whitlock added the second from distance and then Charlie Snelling followed suit with another unstoppable shot from outside the area.

 

Prasad set up Vinny Nkomo with a run and cross for the fourth before completing her first half treble with two more just before the break.

 

Flyers never dropped their levels and the second half saw eight more scored with Nkomo completing her debut hat-trick, along with goals for Jazz Pearmine, Laura Da Silva and an astonishing cameo from Annie Northwood who netted four with some clinical finishing from close range.

 

Dorchester had their first shot on target save by Shannon White on 69 minutes and kept battling right to the end but the match had been all about the hunger and desire of the Flyers to build confidence and understanding with some exciting newcomers added to the talents of the existing squad.

Winchester City Flyers will be on their travels in the Third Round Qualifying, having been drawn away to Bitton of the South West League.
