Genero Adran Leagues
Abbie Iddenden delivered a sensational hat-trick to lead Wrexham to a 4-2 win against Genero Adran Premier champions Cardiff City at Central Park on Sunday.
The result saw Wrexham complete a Phase Two double over their rivals ahead of their Bute Energy Welsh Cup Final clash later this month. Cardiff took an early lead through Laura Curnock in the eighth minute, but Rosie Hughes equalised midway through the first half. Iddenden then struck twice before the interval and once after the hour mark to secure the victory, despite a second half leveller from Lily Billingham.
Relegated Cardiff Met Women claimed a 2-0 win away at Barry Town Utd, ensuring they will not finish the campaign without a victory. Ruby Colleton opened the scoring in the 18th minute, followed by Molly Chapman’s strike nine minutes before the break. Barry pushed for a response in the second half, but goalkeeper Charlotte Smith stood tall to preserve a clean sheet.
The New Saints recorded their first Phase Two win, defeating runners-up Briton Ferry Llansawel 2-1 at The Renewable Centre Stadium. Chantelle Teare headed TNS in front after 10 minutes, but Megan Kearle levelled for Ferry on the half hour. Teare turned provider shortly after, setting up captain Lia Lewis for the decisive goal.
Swansea City meanwhile secured a fourth consecutive victory with a 3-1 triumph over Aberystwyth Town. Nia Jones, along with an own goal from Josie Pugh, gave the Swans a 2-0 lead before Lily Moralee-Hughes pulled one back for the hosts. Substitute Maddy Murray sealed the win late on with a powerful long-range effort.
Genero Adran North
Connah’s Quay Nomads completed an impeccable Genero Adran North campaign, securing a 3-1 victory over Felinheli to finish with 14 wins from 14 league matches. The Nomads, who had already clinched the title, missed several early chances before Natasha Spearing broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute, firing home the rebound after Ella Jones’ initial effort was saved. Jordan Parry’s side then took command just before the break with two goals in quick succession: Aimee Redfern headed in from a Phoebe Ellis corner, followed by Jones herself slotting home from close range. Felinheli responded in first half stoppage time through Fflur Williams, who produced a looping half volley to reduce the deficit, but a resolute second half defensive display ensured Connah’s Quay held firm for the win, capping a historic unbeaten season.
Elsewhere, Llandudno confirmed a fourth place finish with a commanding 6-1 triumph over Rhyl 1879 at the Go Goodwins Stadium. Kelsey Davies stole the show, scoring four goals—two in the opening six minutes, a third in the 25th minute to complete her hat-trick, and a fourth early in the second half, finishing the season with 14 league goals. Rhyl briefly fought back with a goal from Chelsea Evans shortly after Davies’ brace, but Rebecca Jarvis-Evans restored Llandudno’s three-goal cushion in first half injury time. Maddie Williams, who provided four assists, rounded off the scoring with a goal of her own late on, sealing an emphatic victory for the Seasiders. Llanfair Utd concluded a strong campaign in second place with a 3-0 win away at relegated NFA FC. Emma Williams opened the scoring midway through the first half, her second consecutive goal on the road, before assisting Harriet Davies to double the lead eight minutes after the interval. Davies then secured the three points with her second of the match in the 71st minute, finishing the season on 14 league goals. Flint Town Utd concluded their debut Genero Adran North season with a 3-0 win over Bangor at the Essity Stadium. Zoe Stopford struck from the penalty spot just two minutes in, setting the tone for the Silkwomen, before Rosie Hughes doubled the lead just before the hour mark. Hughes added a second ten minutes later, ensuring Flint ended in fifth place with a flourish.
Genero Adran South
Pontypridd Utd were crowned Genero Adran South Champions after a dominant 4-0 victory over Llanelli Town at USW Sports Park on Sunday, securing the title with a two point advantage over rivals Swansea University and Cascade Youth Club. The Dragons, level on points with their two competitors entering the final day, wasted no time asserting their dominance as Quianna Wheeler slotted home in the eighth minute following a swift move. Mia Sherrard doubled the lead before half time, tucking away a close range effort to give Pontypridd a firm grip on the match. After the break, top scorer Nicole Fenton took centre stage, racing into the area to calmly finish past Celyn Barnett five minutes into the second half for her first of the afternoon. Fenton then sealed the Championship in style, grabbing her second in the 72nd minute to finish the campaign as the division’s leading marksman and spark jubilant scenes among the home supporters.
In the end, a draw would actually have sufficed for Pontypridd, as Swansea University and Cascade played out a 1-1 stalemate. Ellis Lunn gave Cascade the lead in the 22nd minute, but Annabel Stokes equalised for Swansea in injury time with her fifth goal of the season, ensuring neither side could overtake the Dragons. In the other game, Penybont rounded off their inaugural Genero Adran South season in fourth place with a 1-0 away win over Cwmbran Celtic. Teenager Casey Daniels proved the difference, firing home after just nine minutes to secure the victory, marking Penybont’s third win in their last four away matches and allowing them to leapfrog Celtic in the final standings.
